Every now and then I have a dream so detailed, I actually remember them the next day. Some go on forever, some are bizarre and some are surreal. Here are a few:
Had another dream last night: I was visiting my grandparents, who had a shingle or shed style home. I was staying in a guest room, built off the main building, with windows on all three walls. The walls were a butter cream, with white sheers on the window. In the dream, I was sleeping and heard the tell-tale sounds of a tornado, the siren/freight train and started waking up-in the in between dream/awake state (in the dream) I could hear my grandparents and other guests they must have had, screaming and running throughout their home. Next was a tornado siren, mixing with the tornado siren/freight train sound, making an awful din-finally my ear drums popped. I popped out of bed but was thrown to the floor, feeling the tornado vacuuming up everything. Everything went silent, I arose from the floor and opened up the door. The rest of the house was gone. Such a bizarre dream.
Dreamt about a house last night. All I saw was the Master Bedroom, it was a 3rd story suite in a large house, it had quite a massive circular staircase, on on one side there was a 15-20 foot bay window that jutted out, set in the middle of the room was a super king size modern four poster bed, in the bay window were two large white or cream modern armless chairs. The view was the tops of trees and in the distance was some city. It was night and all the city's lights sparkled and winked in the background. There were light wood dressers and chests throughout the bedroom, all shellacked, gleaming in low-hung miniature chandeliers. The chandeliers were spread evenly on the sides of the room, each of the two walls were window-walls, with chaises or other chairs with small tables. Behind the circular staircase was ground-to-rooftop glass wall,, thick and must have been energy efficient, because the house felt warm, with no draft. The master bedroom floor was bamboo or bamboo look-alike, under the bed was some sort of rug, but not an oriental design. There was a master bathroom, and closet beyond an arched door on the other side of the staircase railing, in the corner. The house must have been remote because there wasn't any lights from neighbors through any of the windows, just more trees. I could see a clearing on one side of the house, which must have been the front and there was acreage spreading out beyond trees on another side of the house. All I wanted to do was stare out the window and look at the city's sparkling, gleaming lights.
More odd: Woke from a dream. The Dali Lamas was walking and talking with me after some natural disaster. I was distraught, losing all my belongings. He held my shoulders, looked me in my eyes and said "When you have nothing, it is only then you can give everything."
One dream involving Susan Boyle!: I was producing or directing a new homicide show, the premise was someone was killing cops across North America-canada, US and mexico--and a crack team of investigators were trying to track down who was responsible. The show's opening sequence (and show, filmed/shot in black and white) was a top shot of a street corner with three industrial/concrete building's corners pointing to a lone street lamp. The show's theme was "Memories" sung by Susan Boyle. She was standing under the street lamp, wearing an ankle-length black dress, arms at her sides. There was a steady downpour but the street lamp provided her shelter from getting wet. As she was singing with a symphony or orchestra, there were backshots of cops getting shot, laying on the streets, interspersed with her singing. Each time there was a backshot of a cop, one of the instruments backing her would stop, so by the end of the song, she was singing a Capella. The last shot is of her tossing a deep, dark burgundy/magenta rose on the street. Isn't that an odd dream?
Dreaming of a sultry jazz singer: Had a wonderful dream last night: I was walking along a 'music row' somewhere, out of a R&B or Jazz club I could hear a woman's soulful, deep and moving rendition of 'Over the Rainbow". Woke with a smile
Hi-rise futuristic city: I was living in a huge, high-towered city, surrounded by canals of water, arteries circling the city. The city was tiered and you traveled between the circles of the city by huge air trams or air gondolas, on thick cables. These traversed through the sections of the city. I lived on the outskirts of the city, was late for work at one of the upper tiers of the city. I threw on a pair of tan pants (that reminded me of capri or kullots?) and a dark brown shirt and ran for the lower air gondola, boarded and enjoyed the views of the canals below, then it stopped a the second tier of the city. I was either at a small shop on that level or I was on the second air tram headed up to an upper tier of the city when I realized I didnt have proper shoes on, only wooden flat-type sandals. There was a vendor there that was selling shoes with reasonable prices. For some reason, there were a pair of gold lamee ballet shoes that caught my eye and two young women said those would look cute on me, but I saw a pair of brown leather shoes across the crowded aisle. They were solid on the toe and heel, with three weave or twisted straps in the middle of each side. Behind me, people were moving out of the way of the center of the air tram or store. I took the shoes to the cashier and said they were extremely well-priced, at $4.60. He said the two girls and I misunderstood, that they were that price if we bought $22.40 in merchandise and suggested I buy one of the huge cinnamon rolls. I said I couldn't possibly eat that, that I would buy one of the variety packs of snacks (with blueberry scones, cherry muffins, etc) that I could share with my co-workers at the top tier. I heard a metal-on-metal scraping sound and turned back around to the crowd of people. We all looked down and there was this huge metal dreidel making it's own way through the crowd, down the aisle. The last thing I remember was that it had exploded.
My mom, the superspy: Had a really wierd dream the night before last about my Mom. It included my bf, Ja, my brother and a woman he said was his girlfriend. Mom had called us to meet her at this huge complex, with two four story, very wide and long buildings and two equally huge parking garages, covering about twenty acres. Mom was in her late twentys/early thirtys, much smaller than she was in life, about a size 15 or 20, and wearing a black lycra skin suit. She said she was recruited to be a spy for some overseas country or organization and there had been a new Element added to the Periodic Table in her honor, "Leoteum" (for a fling she had with an scientist, who named it for her), that was highly unstable and explosive. There was an underground group that got a lot of it and was going to create a dirty bomb and she had tracked them to this complex. We were to divide up to explore the four buildings when she yelled she had a track on someone and sprinted towards a far building. How weird is that dream? lol
Had another dream about a huge house. I don't know where it is, but I've dreamt about it several times before. I get the feeling that I've owned it and I was going back to check it out and I still had a key. It's a huge four bedroom contemporary with soaring ceilings, either painted a dark blue or with dark blue siding of some sort. The kitchen is huge, with a double-sized glassed
front refrigerator and a matching freezer beside it. There are counters on three sides, about fifteen feet each with a center island with a double sink and contemporary, curving faucet that has a hose that detaches. That is as far as I get in the house. Odd.
I had a dream recently. I was floating in space and there was a bright blue hockey goal post beside me, hundreds of feet tall and hundreds of miles above the earth. My Aunt appeared beside me, sitting in a rocking chair knitting something orange and red, which piled beside her, wrapping around her legs. I asked her what the goals were for (the other was was barely visible way in the distance as a bright blue speck.) She responded "They're using these to measure the particle accelerator, sweetie. That's the Hyderian Collider." I turned towards the earth and saw a huge, lush forested valley below and asked her where that was and what they were doing there. I looked at her and she was standing by a one-burner stove, with smallish oven and smallish microwave, stirring something in a pot. She responded "That's the Lorre (sp?) Valley. They're testing the effects of space-time on history with the Hyderian Collider (sp?). Now go wash up, dinner is almost done." What in the world did that dream mean? lol
While I sip my coffee, I"ll tell you my dream last night. I had a teaching position at a small high school in a town of 18,000 people. It was the usual mishmash of kids and fellow teachers. I dont know what subject I was teaching, but I was able to take the kids out of the classroom for practical examples of our subjects. The position was a year-long contract, with an option to renew. Strange, huh?
